Ahwaz Nation of Iran
Ahwazi Arabs are associated particularly with Khuzestan in southwestern Iran. Minority Rights Group traces an autonomous Arabistan/Al-Ahwaz into the early twentieth century and describes its incorporation into the centralizing Pahlavi state. The CINMENA archive separately preserves a resolution setting out the issuing organization’s account of Ahwazi autonomy and cultural rights.
